First Ride!

A tad anxious? you bet! After all, its been 3 months since I've ridden and the once-broken wrist is still feeling precarious. Irish is fresh from 3 months of standing around up north and here we are in new surroundings with cool temps and a brisk wind.

Lucy Cheney & Bouncer played tour guide / babysitter to her Mum Michele and me and we had a wonderful ride all around the grounds of the New Bridge Polo club... beautiful houses, paddocks filled with young polo ponies and best of all... miles upon miles of clay/sandy roads with no traffic other than a four-in-hand carriage (which was the first excuse for our horses to act silly).

Below are more pics of the grounds and the barn which the BEventing group shares with students riding with Eric Horgan.

This is just our half of the barn...

Bobbie and I had ambitious plans to go to the nearby Aiken track and watch/photograph the youngsters in early morning workout. We hardy ladies from Maine whimped out once we saw that the temperature (with a nasty windchill) is ~ 8 degrees!  Plan B is now in effect, another cup of coffee in our comfy cottage, then we'll venture out to see some of the event that is going on today at Full Gallop Farm :-)
