Smooth Sailing

The drive to Aiken was uneventful, except for a few disagreements with the Garmin ("Ms. G"). We left Maine early Sat. morning in 1 degree weather & arrived in Aiken Sunday late afternoon to a pleasant 62. The cottage we are renting is very cute and comfortable, close to town and 11 minutes from the New Bridge Polo Club where Irish and the rest of the BEventing group are stabled. Irish suffered through a clipping two days ago and no longer looks like Nanooke from the North who loaded on TJ's van last week. I'm hoping to mount up today for a stroll around the polo grounds, first time aboard since late October!

The photo ops are endless here. The New Bridge Polo club has paddock after paddock with herds of young polo ponies, grazing & frolicking and there are horse activities of all kinds nearly every weekend as well as in the middle of the week. Some of the BEventing group are ready to go, entered in events starting next week. Irish and I will take our time with hopes of doing some dressage schooling shows and maybe a 2-phase at the end of March.

My other priority is shooting stock images and designing lots and lots of new cards and posters. One of my subjects will be the bunny that visits our front lawn every morning and zips around like a crazed weazel, bucking & jumping. Kitten Kabootle watches intently from inside but will likely meet Mr/Ms. bunny (we named "Sadie-George") one of these days.

I hope to post images soon... off to the barn!!
